  • We live in a busy world that makes it hard to preserve our energy. I've seen firsthand the damage that chronic stress does on our hormones, our energy and our mental health. But it doesn't stop there. My approach to managing fatigue & burnout is holistic and involves thorough testing to check for nutrient deficiencies, inflammation, blood sugar regulatory issues and hormone imbalances, which can all leave you feeling exhausted. This testing, combined with effective stress management techniques, can help you to feel revitalized & restored. If you're struggling with your energy or mental health, let't talk about it.

  • I’m a firm believer that health starts in the gut. Your unique gut flora, how you digest your food, and your ability to absorb nutrients all have profound effects on your wellbeing. I dealt with digestive issues for 12 years before I found a solution, and I don’t want anyone to suffer like I did. Everything from IBS and thyroid disease to autoimmunity and skin conditions can usually be traced back to poor gut health. If you’ve been struggling, let’s talk! I would love to support you on your path to a healthier gut.

  • Our skin is a window to our internal state of health. Problems with our gut, hormones, immune system and nervous system can all manifest as skin conditions. As someone who struggled with cystic hormonal acne for years, I am passionate about helping people heal their skin from the inside out. If you've tried every skincare product with no success, you're in the right place. Let's see what's going on underneath the surface and get you glowing again.

  • Although it may not seem like it, your period is a blessing! Why? Because every period is like a monthly report card, providing essential information about your health. If you’re suffering through unbearable cramping, heavy flow, PMS or even no period at all, it tells me a lot about what is going on beneath the surface. I am passionate about helping women love their periods again and I’d love to be a part of your period reclamation journey! Whether you’re dealing with PCOS, endometriosis, fibroids, PMS, PMDD or you just need some help coming off the Pill, I’m here to help.

  • Acupuncture is an ancient form of healing and is an essential component of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It involves the insertion of very thin needles into various locations along the body. There are over 300 acupuncture points – the points that are selected for you will depend on your unique symptom picture. Acupuncture is shown to reduce pain, balance hormones, build collagen, regulate periods, support fertility, reduce stress, and much more.

Cupping is the use of small cups that produce suction when placed against the skin. The suction increases blood circulation in the area where the cup has been placed. It can be very useful for tight and sore muscles by speeding healing and reducing tension.

Step 1: Initial Visit (60 mins)

During your initial session, we will take a deep dive into your health concerns, current symptoms and past health history, while establishing your health goals. We will discuss lab testing options, to thoroughly investigate the cause of your symptoms and establish a baseline of health. In most cases, you will be given some initial treatment recommendations to get started on, which may include a combination of lifestyle strategies, dietary recommendations and/or the strategic use of herbal and/or nutritional supplements.

Step 2: Lab Result Review (45 mins)

You can expect to book your first 45 minute follow-up 3 weeks after your initial visit. This visit’s primary purpose is to serve as an educational session for you. I will take the time to break down your lab results and/or hormonal profile in detail, helping you to understand your results. I am a firm believer in body literacy and health education as a method of empowerment. Expect to leave this visit with a customized healing strategy based on your unique biochemistry.

This is where we check-in and see how you're doing. These visits help us track your progress and assess how well you are responding to treatment. If needed, we will brainstorm solutions to any obstacles you may have encountered and help keep you on track. We will also schedule any relevant lab re-testing prior to your next follow-up.

Step 4: Lab Result Review (30-45 mins)

Numbers are powerful and your lab results will provide an objective measure of your progress and response to treatment. Expect to repeat some lab tests between your third and fourth appointments as we keep track of your health. In this visit, we'll review your results and modify your treatment plan, if needed or indicated.

    Step 5: Follow-up (30 mins)

In your subsequent follow up appointments we will continue working to restore your health and guide you to a state of wellness. We will check-in and track your progress every step of the way, providing accountability and support. If needed, we will make adjustments to your plan to support your changing health needs.

Once your health is restored and your goals are met, we will transition you to a maintenance plan, which will require much less frequent visits unless a new concern arises.

FAQ

  • Naturopathic medicine is a holistic form of primary healthcare that combines modern scientific knowledge with traditional natural healing modalities. Naturopathic Medicine goes beyond quick-fixes and temporary solutions. It is a distinct approach to healthcare that focuses on identifying and treating the root cause of disease instead of suppressing symptoms. Naturopathic medicine recognizes that everyone is unique and that treatments must be tailored each person’s specific circumstances. Naturopathic Medicine treats both acute and chronic conditions, however, prevention of disease is central to the Naturopathic healthcare model. The end goal of Naturopathic care is to achieve optimal health as opposed to merely being disease-free. Naturopathic Doctors (NDs) believe that the body is capable of healing itself, and strive to remove any obstacles standing in the way of this innate healing process.

  • I work primarily with people who have periods, but I would be honoured to treat any individual of any gender identity. If you think you would be interested in working with me, please get in touch or book a 15-minute complimentary visit to see if we would be a good fit to work together.

  • Complimentary Consult:

I offer complimentary 15 minute meet-and-greet appointments to explore how I can help you achieve your health goals while determining if we would be a good fit to work together.

    Initial Consult:

All new patients should book a 60-minute initial visit. After you’ve booked your initial appointment you will be sent an online intake form. The information you provide in the intake form gives me valuable insight into your case and allows us to maximize our time together during the initial visit. Please take the time to fill out the intake form and submit it no later than 24 hours prior to your visit. I also encourage you to share any recent test results during your initial visit.

During your initial session, we will take a deep dive into your health concerns, current symptoms and past health history, while establishing your health goals. Further lab testing is often required, to thoroughly investigate the cause of your symptoms and establish a baseline of health. In most cases, you will be given some initial treatment recommendations to get started on, which may include a combination of lifestyle strategies, dietary recommendations and/or the strategic use of herbal and/or nutritional supplements.

    Follow-Up Consults:

Follow-ups range between 15-45 minutes in length.

I want you to leave this visit feeling motivated to heal yourself! We will also follow-up on your initial treatment recommendations and adjust them as indicated by your lab work results.

Further follow-up appointments are typically 30 minutes, but can be longer or shorter depending on your individual case. In the beginning, as we work on the foundations of health, I recommend we meet at least once a month, for 3-4 months. Each visit provides an opportunity for you ask questions, for us to track your progress, to discuss any obstacles you may have encountered and for the treatment plan to be adjusted to suit your changing circumstances. If we have decided to make acupuncture or cupping a part of your treatment plan, I may recommend more frequent acupuncture/cupping visits.

Once your main concerns have been addressed, we will transition you to a maintenance plan. Typically, this happens 4-6 months after your initial visit. During this maintenance phase, visits are less frequent unless we run into a new or acute issue. It is during this phase that we would complete annual check-ups and screening, as well as update your health goals.

  • I am a firm believer in thorough testing for your health concerns. This is the best way to determine the underlying root cause behind your symptoms. It is also an opportunity to better understand your unique physiology and biochemistry. Testing, instead of guessing, also helps us to restore your health more quickly through precise & targeted treatment.

Similar to your family doctor, Naturopathic Doctors can requisition standard blood work. More specialized functional medicine testing can also be performed, including but not limited to the following:

Comprehensive Hormone Testing (blood, urine or saliva)

Comprehensive Stool Testing & Gut Health Analysis

    Food Sensitivity Panels

Standard blood work and comprehensive functional testing may be eligible for coverage by your extended healthcare benefits.

  • My treatment plans are holistic and encompass many different healing modalities. Exactly which healing modalities will be used depends on the individual patient and their unique circumstances. However, most patients require a combination of dietary changes, lifestyle adjustments, stress management, targeted herbal supplements and/or nutritional supplements. In some cases, I also recommend acupuncture and/or cupping treatments to facilitate healing.

  • No. I will never ask you to stop seeing your medical doctor or shame you into stopping any medications. In fact, I encourage all my patients to maintain a healthy relationship with their family doctors and specialists. I believe that collaboration between healthcare providers is ideal for optimal health. Ultimately, I want you to feel your best and to receive the best possible care and this often requires multiple practitioners. I look forward to working alongside your family doctor and to becoming a member of your healthcare team.

If you’re still feeling uncertain about whether our services are aligned with your needs, schedule a complimentary 15 minute meet-and-greet.
